Boaz Kaizman, Uli Maré and Henry Kurz

The project follows the question of what a collaboration with Henry Kurz could look like today. It imagines him not only as a figure of remembrance, but as a voice in a present conversation about Jewish cultural life.

At its core, the project explores connections across generations, genders, and cultures. It asks how memory is carried, how historical experience can be translated into contemporary forms, and how Jewish cultural life can remain active by entering into dialogue with the present rather than being confined to the past.

About Henry Theodor Kurz

Henry Theodor Kurz is a fictional name based on a real person. This project is a collaboration between video artist and composer Boaz Kaizman, Uli Maré and Henry Kurz.

"The Thread" - Music Piece (7 min)

Boaz Kaizman used the poem as the basis for a 7-minute music piece. The piece was generated through a text-to-music workflow - mapping the voice of Henry Kurz reading the poem onto musical notation for an ensemble.

"The Thread" - Video Work (12 min)

Boaz Kaizman created a 12-minute video from the following elements:

• A young female dancer performing in her studio, digitally manipulated as an animation
• Music featuring oud and triangle
• A short voice-over of Henry Kurz introducing himself and reading the poem
